Over 100 Media Professionals from the Global South Gather in Shanghai
The China Academy will release interviews with representatives in the upcoming months.
On May 4th-5th, over 100 academics and media professionals from nearly 20 countries and regions, including China, India, Ghana, Zambia, Morocco, South Africa, Zimbabwe, DRC, Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, Cuba, Ecuador, Jamaica, Uruguay, the US, and the UK, gathered in Shanghai and engaged in a frank exchange of views on how media outlets from the Global South can create better ways of international discourse.
As an institution providing media support for that event, the China Academy will release a series of in-depth interviews with the aforementioned representatives in the upcoming months, as well as video coverage of the entire event. The China Academy did a deep-dive into these representatives’ unique experiences in their efforts to provide impactful global discourse in a shifting geopolitical and media landscape.
This event hosted members of a variety of media organizations such as Press TV, TeleSUR, RT, CGTN, Pan African TV, ArgMedios, and Brasil de Fato.
