On the evening of August 24 local time, Telegram founder Pavel Durov was arrested.
Although the arrest took place in France, many believed the United States to be the mastermind behind it, due to his non-cooperation with the Western intelligence agencies.
After Durov's arrest, both Elon Musk and Tucker Carlson tweeted in mourning the demise of free speech in the West. Telegram is known for playing a major role during the color revolutions when it was once praised by Western media for an impetus of freedom. Such view has taken a drastic change following the outbreak of the Israel-Palestine war and riots in the UK.
