There are two ways to counter the haunting sense of loneliness that life, at one point or another, inevitably hits us with. The first is adopted by China’s “Reform and Opening Up” generation, whose adult lives witnessed the roaring two-digit growth of the Chinese economy. These days, many of them reminisce about their youth, when all dreams seemed so close that marriage was a no-brainer next step towards happily ever after. The second way is to sit yourself down, pour a cup of coffee tailor-made by that extravagant coffee machine you pampered yourself with, and search for the latest gadgets and technology surprises you with. And China’s new generation seems to have made up their mind.
